Topology and Geometric Group Theory

Welcome to the Topology and Geometric Group Theory Group. This Research Group is part of the Institute for Algebra and Geometry at the Department of Mathematics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Our main research focus is the interaction of algebraic topology and geometric group theory.

Our main research focuses are:

• L²-invariants
• Topology and geometry of aspherical manifolds
• Geometric and measurable group theory

The interplay between algebraic topology and geometric group theory is the main focus of our research activities.

Currently our research is (partially) supported by the DFG-project 1661/4 in the DFG priority programm Geometry at Infinity and by the DFG Research Training Group 2229.

Our research seminar takes place in the seminar room 2.058 on Thursdays at 15:45 during the lecture periods.
