About me
I am Seniorprofessor at the Institute of Algebra and Geometry.
My research interests are within algebraic geometry. I am particularly interested in translation surfaces and their moduli spaces, in origamis and Teichmüller curves, but also in Mumford curves and nonarchimedean moduli of curves. For more details see my publication list.
For many years, I was active in the academic self-administration. In Particular, I served as dean of the department for 7 years, and for 13 years, I was a member of the academic senate.
I am regularly involved in the organization of the following events:
Weihnachtsworkshop
Together with Gabriela Weitze-Schmithüsen (Saarbrücken) I regularly organize the Weihnachtsworkshop on geometry and number theory. It takes place shortly before Christmas and alternates between Karlsruhe and Saarbrücken.
